AS YOU LIKE IT Launches Online Store, Promotes Ecosexuality

As You Like It, a gender inclusive, body positive, sex positive, pleasure shop that sell body safe toys based in Portland, Oregon has just launched its online webstore. We focus on educational and fun events in order to create a healthy community space.

As You Like It brings ecosexuality to the forefront of the sex toy market. Based in Portland, Oregon (Popular Science’s Greenest City in America), As You Like It offers rechargeable, recyclable, body safe products in a web environment that is gender and sexuality inclusive, sex positive, and educational – and lots of fun!

As You Like It strives to get toxic toys out of the bedroom. We pledge to offer toys free of phthalates, parabens, synthetic fragrances, petrochemicals and other unsafe materials. Our lubes and lotions are made from body-safe ingredients. Products are sourced “local first” to reduce the use of shipping fuels and support local businesses.

The online webstore offers a truly gender inclusive spread of toys (including an entire section dedicated to Gender Expression), and is the first of its kind to feature a unique Perineum/Taint section containing toys that can be used to stimulate this long-neglected part of the body.

The company is queer-owned and prides itself on its sustainable practices and its support for local activism. Kim Marks has been an environmental activist based in the Pacific Northwest since 1994. She has worked as an organizer for a variety of direct action groups for over a decade. Her dedication to eco-sexuality and local-first sourcing comes from her own experience with thyroid cancer, which heightened her awareness of environmental toxins.

I’ve gone through most of the copy on the website and removed any gender essentialism that I came across (except for those in books or movies, because I didn’t want to mislead anyone into thinking the content was more gender inclusive than it is). Our options aren’t as much as we’d like them to be (we’re working on getting binders right now) but we’re carrying lots of good stuff. :) You should check us out and buy from us.
